Applescrapping

Welcome to my little corner in the world of papercrafting! About a year ago I became an independent Close to My Heart consultant, and thought this would be a great way to share my art. Most of my ideas are inspired by my wonderful family and friends. I'd like to dedicate this blog to them for their priceless friendships and memories.

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

And so it begins....another holiday season is upon us. Time to think about making Christmas cards, you can never start too early!  I ordered my first set of Copic Markers a few weeks ago and finally got a chance to play with them today.  This card is made with a 6x6 base using all Close to My Heart Products with the exception of the markers and Cuttlebug embossing folder. The cardstock used was Gypsy,Lagoon, and White Daisy. I also used the CTMH stamp set "All Decked Out",gypsy ink and stardust glitter glue to embellish.  The snow layers are distressed with sky ink pad.  This is my first attempt with the markers,so hope to show improvement each time I post a card for you:)

"Sharing the Magic" October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

If you just came from my friend Nancy Brown's blog, you are in the right neighborhood.  Come on in and have a cup of cocoa and some of my homemade ricotta cookies.  Brrrrrrrr....it's getting cold outside.  You know what that means, don't you?  Time to think about the upcoming holiday season.  We need to make our lists for gift buying, cookie baking, and oh yes....Christmas cards!!  These are all part of "Sharing the Magic",Close to My Heart's October Stamp of the Month.

This 4 1/2 x 5 1/4 card was made using  Close to My Heart's October Stamp of the Month D1443,papers from Level 2 "Magnifique.  The snowballs that my little snowman is juggling are made from our clear buttons with a little mound of  "Glitz Stardust Glitter Glue".  I also used this to enhance some of the accessories on the little guy as well as the snow.  As you can see in the photo,I created a pocket to slide the message tag into.  The large Designer Shimmer Brad was perfect to keep the message in place and embellish at the same time. Of course the ribbon is always my favorite to top things off!
Your next stop is at Katy Donaldson's blog .  Would you mind taking a bag of cookies to her for me?  I'm sure she will have something magical to share with you.  Happy Hopping Days!

You can do so many things with tomatoes.  Today I made a tomato pie and then made a spicy dip for Tim's Penn State game crew to enjoy.  The recipe for both are posted under the recipe section of this blog.

SEPTEMBER STAMP OF THE MONTH "THRILLER"

Welcome once again to my blog! If you are coming from Wanda Riley's blog, you are here to see my latest creation using the "Thriller" stamp set which is the September Stamp of the Month.

For this 5x7 Halloween themed card,I used papers from Hooligan's. Don't you just love the beautiful new colors, lagoon, pear, gypsy and sunset? I stamped the image using Versamark and our black archival ink pad. Then heat embossed used clear detail embossing powder. I added a little detail with my white gel pen and some of our new sparkles in purple. Her eye needed a little sparkle,so I added a twinkle brad.

Now on to your next stop at Jen Patrick's blog and check out her boo-tiful creation. Happy Haunting and thanks so much for stopping by!

August SOTM Blog Hop

Welcome blog hoppers! If you are coming from Jean McNulty's blog , then you have arrived at my garden gate. A freshly picked flower is "Something Splendid",and also the CTMH August Stamp of the Month. It is truly inspiring, and reminds me of my own flower garden.
For this 6x6 card,I used baby pink cardstock for the base and part of the layering. B&T papers from Silhouette were used as well. The ink used to stamp was desert sand, and also used baby pink with my blending pen and a white gel pen to shade. To finish my image,I used Liquid Glass to bring out the detail.. The ribbon used is from the blush collection. Since making this card,I have found that there are so many colors that can be used with the Silhouette paper packet. I love it,and the SOTM too!

Thanks for taking a stroll through my garden with me. Next time you stop by I'll try to have some fresh lemonade, that really cools you off on these hot summer days! Now hope on over to Katherine Schmitt's blog . She's waiting to greet you with "Something Splendid" made from her creative garden.

Father'sDay June 20th,2010

My Dad is hard working and still going strong at 74.  In 1965 he started our family business,a very successful Yamaha dealership.  Even during the tough times,he has managed to keep things running smoothly.  We now have three generations working side by side everyday,Dad,my son Jared, and I.  Over the past 27 years working with Dad,I have learned many things of which I am so thankful for.  Happy Father's Day Dad,I am proud of all that you have accomplished in your life!
